Museum of earthenware

Earthenware Museum

Museum of earthenware: since 17 June 1991, the Porquier house has been revived. The collections of the Musée de la Faïence are presented in an appropriate setting and in conditions worthy of their quality.

The Musée de la faïence covers an exhibition area of 500 metres on two levels, with 124 display modules spread over eight rooms, allowing visitors to discover the many facets of a Quimper they thought they knew.

The museum's rooms are organised according to criteria that cross thematic and chronological aspects, where the didactic will is also always present.

The earthenware museum will take you on an enriching journey through the centuries on the history of Quimper earthenware. An exhibition of 500 pieces, some of which are unique, is regularly renewed thanks to a collection of more than 2,000 works (religious or historical compositions, scenes from daily life or abstract drawings) frozen in this noble and beautiful material.
